Why we love it
The K-Crema is Keurig's answer to the crema question. Its pressure infusion runs at five times the pressure of a standard Keurig brew, per Keurig, so a K-Cup coffee pod comes out with a layer of crema on top, and the same pods make espresso-style shots. The classic brew is still there for tea, cocoa or an ordinary cup, and the drip tray sets at three heights for an espresso cup, a mug or a travel mug. Keurig calls the shots espresso-style, and that is the right word: it is not the 9-bar extraction of an espresso machine, but it is the closest a K-Cup gets.
Pros
- Crema-topped coffee from K-Cup coffee pods
- Espresso-style shots from the same pods
- Classic brew for tea and cocoa too
- Drip tray at three heights, up to a travel mug
- MultiStream brewing
Cons
- Espresso-style, not true espresso
- A new model, with little owner history
- Cost per cup is far higher than ground coffee
