Why we love it
The standard EKG already has the best pour spout in the category, so the Pro isn't about a better pour — it's about the kettle doing more of the thinking. A full-colour display replaces the dial, so you set a target rather than hunt for it. Scheduled boil means water is at temperature when you walk into the kitchen instead of three minutes after. Altitude calibration matters more than it sounds: water boils below 212°F as you climb, and a kettle that doesn't know its elevation is quietly off-target everywhere above sea level. Guide Mode holds presets for different coffee and tea styles, and a brew stopwatch is built in so you're not reaching for a phone mid-pour. If you already own the EKG, none of this is worth replacing it for. If you're buying your first serious kettle and you brew every day, it's the one you stop thinking about.
Pros
- Scheduled boil — water ready when you get to the kitchen
- Altitude calibration keeps the target honest above sea level
- Full-colour display instead of hunting for a set point
- Guide Mode presets for coffee and tea styles
- Same precision gooseneck spout as the standard EKG
Cons
- Costs more than the standard EKG for convenience, not a better pour
- No reason to upgrade if you already own an EKG
- 0.9L is a two-cup pour — same limit as the cheaper model
