Why we love it
Temperature control without the Fellow price. Five presets cover the range you actually brew in, hold-temp keeps it there for an hour so a slow pour doesn't drift cold, and the interior, lid and spout are all stainless rather than the plastic that gives cheap electric kettles their taste. The counter-balanced handle is what makes a slow, steady pour possible without wrist strain.
Pros
- Five one-touch presets and hold-temp for an hour
- Holds within 5°F of the set temperature
- Stainless interior, lid and spout — no plastic in the water path
- Counter-balanced handle for controlled pouring
- Roughly a third the price of the premium electric goosenecks
Cons
- 0.8 L is small if you're brewing for more than two
- Presets rather than a dial — no arbitrary temperature
- No built-in scale or brew timer
- The ready tone is loud until you turn it off
