Why we love it

Induction heats the jug itself rather than a plate under it, so the milk warms evenly instead of scorching where it touches the base — that scorched edge is what makes cheap frothers taste faintly burnt. Two discs rather than one: the latte disc makes thin microfoam that pours, the cappuccino disc makes stiff foam that sits. You set the temperature and it stops there, which matters because milk past 160°F starts tasting cooked no matter how good the foam is.

Pros

  • Induction heating warms the jug evenly — no scorched layer at the base
  • Separate latte and cappuccino discs for pourable microfoam or stiff foam
  • Set a temperature and it stops there rather than running to boiling
  • Jug goes in the dishwasher
  • Handles hot chocolate and chai as well as milk

Cons

  • The most expensive way to froth milk short of a steam wand
  • Another appliance on the counter if your machine already steams
  • One-year warranty
  • Discs are small parts that are easy to lose
